Rights of Reply and Complaints Policy

Document Ref: RTA-COMP-2026-002

Effective Date: April 21, 2026

Jurisdiction: International / Compliance with Press Council Standards

1. OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE

Rising Talent Academy (the "Academy") is committed to the highest standards of journalistic accuracy, impartiality, and professional ethics. This Policy establishes a formal mechanism for "Data Subjects" or "Identified Parties" to seek redress regarding published material they believe to be factually inaccurate, defamatory, or in breach of privacy.

This policy is designed to align with the FIA Code of Good Standing and international media regulations regarding the "Right of Reply."

2. GROUNDS FOR COMPLAINT

A formal complaint or request for a Right of Reply will be considered only if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • Factual Error: The published content contains a demonstrable misstatement of fact.

  • Defamation: The content makes an unsubstantiated claim that causes injury to the reputation of a person or legal entity.

  • Privacy Breach: The publication discloses private information without a justifiable public interest or legal basis.

  • Lack of Balance: In matters of significant controversy, a directly affected party was not afforded a reasonable opportunity to comment prior to publication.

3. THE "RIGHT OF REPLY" PROTOCOL

The Academy recognizes the Right of Reply as a professional courtesy and a legal safeguard.

  1. Submission: The claimant must submit a written "Request for Reply" within seven (7) business days of the original publication.

  2. Proportionality: The reply must be of similar length and prominence to the original assertion being challenged.

  3. Content: The reply must be limited to factual corrections and must not contain new defamatory statements, or be used as a platform for unrelated promotional material.

  4. Editorial Discretion: The Academy reserves the right to edit the reply for length, clarity, or legal compliance, provided the core message remains intact.

4. FORMAL COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

All formal grievances must follow the Four-Stage Resolution Process:

Stage I: Formal Filing

Complaints must be submitted via the Formal Grievance Form to AjDysonF1@gmail.com. The submission must include:

  • A direct link to the content in question.

  • A precise identification of the contested statements.

  • Evidence (documents, data, or witness statements) refuting the published claims.

Stage II: Preliminary Review

The Academy’s Legal and Editorial Board will conduct a preliminary assessment within forty-eight (48) hours to determine if the complaint has a prima facie basis. During this period, a "Notice of Review" may be appended to the online content.

Stage III: Adjudication

If the complaint is validated, the Academy will take one or more of the following actions:

  • Correction: Amending the digital record with a prominent "Correction Notice."

  • Retraction: Total removal of the content if the factual basis is entirely compromised.

  • Apology: A formal statement of regret regarding the error.

Stage IV: Final Appeal

If the claimant is unsatisfied with the Stage III outcome, the matter may be escalated to an independent mediator or the relevant national Press Ombudsman.

5. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS

The Academy will not entertain complaints that are:

  • Vexatious or Frivolous: Designed solely to harass or suppress legitimate investigative journalism.

  • Matters of Opinion: Disagreements with subjective analysis, commentary, or "fair comment" on sporting performance.

  • Time-Barred: Submitted more than thirty (30) days after the initial publication date.

6. PROTECTION OF SOURCES

Notwithstanding any complaint, the Academy strictly adheres to the principle of Journalistic Privilege. We will not disclose the identity of confidential sources during a complaint investigation unless compelled by a court of competent jurisdiction.

7. FIA AND REGULATORY COOPERATION

In the event that a complaint involves matters of regulatory sensitivity (e.g., technical breaches, sporting integrity), the Academy reserves the right to consult with the FIA Communications Department or relevant stakeholders before finalizing a correction to ensure technical accuracy.

Legal Attestation: This policy ensures that Rising Talent Academy operates with the accountability required of professional media organizations holding international credentials.
