From Irish Champion to the World Stage: The Rapid Rise of Hubert Tomaszewski
At just sixteen years old, Hubert Tomaszewski has already secured three Irish National Championship titles. Racing under his signature #93 plate, the young rider has rapidly progressed from junior short-circuit categories to competing at the sharp end of national grids, setting his sights firmly on the international stage. Through a mix of technical precision and consistency on track, Tomaszewski’s rapid ascent through domestic motorcycle racing has established him as one of Ireland’s most compelling young prospects.
Dominating the Home Front
Tomaszewski’s career began in the highly competitive ranks of Irish minibike and short-circuit racing. Developing his racecraft on tight, unforgiving tracks taught him the fundamentals of late braking, corner-entry speed, and race management under pressure.
That foundation built the groundwork for three national title campaigns. Competing in the Principal Masters Superbike Championship at Mondello Park, Tomaszewski demonstrated a level of racecraft that yielded repeated race wins and podium finishes against experienced competition. Whether managing changing track grip during wet sessions or maintaining lap-time consistency in dry sprints, his approach behind the fairing focused heavily on banking points when conditions were least favourable.
That pragmatic, adaptable mindset has become a hallmark of his riding style. When asked how he manages difficult race weekends when conditions or setups fall short, Tomaszewski remains unfazed:
"Usually I try to look for the best in things. If things aren't going as planned, I try my hardest to find a workaround. In the end, I am happy either way with whatever outcome occurs, as long as I had fun."
This level-headed philosophy allows him to extract maximum performance from challenging situations without overriding or making critical errors on track.
Stepping onto the International Radar
While domestic results proved his capability at home, Tomaszewski’s progression has accelerated onto foreign circuits. His biggest career benchmark came with an invitation to the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Selection Event in Guadix, Spain. Selected as one of 113 young riders invited globally, the event offered Tomaszewski direct exposure to world-championship-level evaluation. The Red Bull Rookies Cup serves as a primary feeder pathway into Moto3 and the wider Grand Prix paddock, making his inclusion a significant milestone for his international ambitions.
Furthering his international experience, Tomaszewski was chosen to represent Team Ireland at the 2026 Celtic Match Races held at Jurby Circuit in the Isle of Man, continuing his development on unfamiliar track layouts against international competition.
The Routine Behind the Visor
Progressing up the racing ladder requires significant preparation beyond track time. For Tomaszewski, balancing the demands of high-level competition involves a structured approach to physical training, technical feedback, and daily life. Working closely with his crew at 116 Team Racing, session debriefs focus on telemetry data, suspension adjustments, and gearing tweaks to refine performance ahead of race days.
Despite the pressure of competing at a high level, Tomaszewski keeps his routine grounded and manageable.
"School life and racing don't seem to impact each other that much," he explains. "Usually our schedule is pretty neat and similar as always."
This steady rhythm off the track provides the consistency needed to stay sharp when helmet visors go down on race day.
Looking Ahead
With international experience expanding alongside his national pedigree, Tomaszewski continues to focus on transitioning into full-time European competition. As he prepares for the next step in his career, his target remains laser-focused on reaching the highest levels of global motorsport, even as he acknowledges the hurdles facing independent talent.
"Next year I am aiming to either step up a class nationally or race somewhere internationally in a similar class as now," says Tomaszewski. "All step-ups come with the problem of finance. Our options are sometimes limited due to this."
Despite those financial realities, his ambition and proven track record make him a standout prospect for prospective sponsors and team managers looking to support emerging talent. As he eyes the upcoming season, Tomaszewski’s journey from Irish short-circuits toward international paddocks is only just beginning.
